The CEO of Sina Energy Holding emphasized the need to upgrade HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) equipment across its subsidiaries and highlighted the importance of developing strategic visions for HSE within these companies.<\/p>\n
According to Sina Energy<\/strong>, Alireza Salmanzadeh, speaking at a ceremony honoring HSE managers on the occasion of National “Safety and Firefighting Day,” attended by holding executives, CEOs, and HSE managers of subsidiaries, stated: \u201cSafety has always been a priority in the oil industry and remains so. Naturally, this issue holds significant importance within the holding and its subsidiaries as well.\u201d<\/p>\n Salmanzadeh added, \u201cCertain aspects of safety may initially seem non-essential, but as we delve into execution and processes, the critical importance of safety and related considerations becomes evident.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cGiven the nature of operations in our subsidiaries, whether manufacturing or contracting companies, there are numerous potential hazards, underscoring the need for strict adherence to safety measures.\u201d<\/p>\n The CEO emphasized that subsidiaries must outline their strategies and work priorities in the HSE domain for the upcoming year. He also stressed that each company should define its vision in health, safety, and environmental sustainability. \u201cIn other words, starting today, we need clarity about where, for instance, Behran or North Drilling Company will stand in HSE over the next year.\u201d<\/p>\n He also called for updating F&G (Fire and Gas) systems across the subsidiaries, noting, \u201cOne critical aspect of safety involves emergency response equipment and personal protective gear, which must be continually upgraded.\u201d<\/p>\n Salmanzadeh further highlighted the importance of periodic evaluations of safety officers, suggesting that these assessments could be conducted through efficient training workshops and regular operational drills. He also stressed the need for ongoing facility inspections and risk assessments to monitor health, safety, and environmental conditions within the companies.<\/p>\n Emphasis on HSE in the Tire Industry<\/strong><\/p>\n In the same session, Hadi Amirshaghaghi, CEO of Iran Tire Manufacturing Company, stated, \u201cThe importance of HSE in industry is undeniable, and naturally, in the tire industry, which is a foundational sector in transportation, this issue is of utmost importance.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cGiven the high-risk nature of activities in the tire industry and the potential for environmental hazards, HSE demands significant attention, reflecting the company’s responsibility in ensuring safety and adhering to health and environmental standards.\u201d<\/p>\n Amirshaghaghi outlined some of the measures implemented in the HSE domain at Iran Tire, acknowledging that although they are not yet ideal, substantial progress has been made compared to the past, resulting in improved safety and health conditions for employees.<\/p>\n He noted, \u201cIn the first half of 2023, we experienced nine disabling incidents and one fatal accident, which were deeply tragic. However, this figure has decreased to one disabling incident in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year. Still, our goal is to eliminate such incidents entirely.\u201d<\/p>\n The CEO highlighted the company’s efforts in education and awareness, reporting that 1,060 person-hours of HSE training were conducted in the first half of 2023. Additionally, he addressed previous shortcomings in HSE guidelines, revealing that at least 20 new directives, which were previously absent, have been developed, documented, and implemented.<\/p>\n Amirshaghaghi also spoke about enhancing fire safety measures, noting that the number of firefighters on-site has increased from four to seven, and the company’s clinic has been upgraded. He further mentioned improvements in ventilation systems in critical areas like curing and Banbury mixing rooms, which were previously suboptimal.<\/p>\n Regarding fire and gas safety systems, he explained that significant measures have been taken, aligning with the holding\u2019s policies. Furthermore, he pointed out improvements in the implementation of the 5S workplace organization system, bringing the factory to an acceptable standard.<\/p>\n
