Two New Wells at the Marun Oil Field Come on Stream


The CEO of North Drilling Company a subsidiary of Energy Sina Holding announced the completion of drilling and flowback operations for two new wells at the Marun Oil Field.

According to Energy Sina, Rouhollah Abdi stated that the drilling and flowback operations for wells No. 496 and No. 498 under the Marun-14 project were successfully completed through the dedicated efforts of the company’s drilling crews. He noted that the two wells, with a combined production capacity of 1,000 barrels per day, have been brought on stream and handed over to the client.

Referring to the project’s progress, he added that the final drilling package of the Marun project is well No. 502, which is currently in the final stages of drilling with 80 percent physical progress achieved.

The CEO of North Drilling Company emphasized that the Marun Oil Field development project—one of the core projects under the National Iranian Oil Company’s 28-reservoir development plan—has so far reached 94 percent progress in subsurface operations. He described the project as a successful example of drilling, completion, and production activities at the Marun Field in Khuzestan Province.

Abdi further stressed that, in line with its established plans, North Drilling Company will continue its development path with determination, and upcoming projects at Marun and other fields will be pursued with a strong focus on improving operational speed, quality, and efficiency.
