With the official inauguration of the international drilling project at the Koopal Oil Field, Rig 202 of Pars Energy Gostar Exploration and Drilling Company (PDEX)—a subsidiary of Energy Sina Holding—officially began its operational activities at the field.
According to Energy Sina, The inauguration ceremony for the project was held on Wednesday, December 24 2025 at the project site, attended by deputies and senior managers of Energy Sina Holding, the acting CEO of PDEX, executives from the National Iranian South Oilfields Company, and representatives of the Russian company SOJUZCHIM EXPORT.
The Koopal Oil Field drilling project is regarded as one of the strategic initiatives in the upstream sector of the country’s oil industry. Its implementation represents a significant step toward expanding international cooperation, facilitating technology transfer, and utilizing advanced drilling technologies. The presence of senior technical and executive managers from both the Iranian and Russian sides at the inauguration ceremony underscored the project’s strategic importance and the strong commitment of both parties to its successful execution.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, Ali Shahriyar, Acting CEO of Pars Energy Gostar Exploration and Drilling Company (PDEX), referring to the official start of the project’s operational phase, stated: “The launch of this project is the result of cohesive planning, effective interaction with the client, and mutual trust between the Iranian and international partners.”
He added that the Koopal project is not merely an operational undertaking for PDEX, but rather a strategic opportunity to enhance technical capabilities, expand specialized expertise, and leverage modern drilling technologies at the international level.

Emphasizing the company’s professional approach to project execution, Shahriyar noted: “Relying on a highly skilled workforce, extensive experience in implementing complex drilling projects, and strict adherence to safety, quality, and scheduling requirements, PDEX will advance this project in accordance with the highest technical and operational standards.”
